Our Travel planner, Kristen traveled to Universal during the summer to inform everone how great they are doing with Covid precautions. And they have only done better and better every month. So we wanted to share her experience again with you!
From Kristen-
Have you been getting a little bit stir crazy? My husband and I have been getting ready to get out again. As soon as I heard Universal Orlando was reopening, I knew I had to plan a quick getaway! I can tell you that I was not at all disappointed! Our Universal getaway was safe, relaxing, and a fun adventure!
For our June trip, we stayed at Universal’s Endless Summer Surfside Inn and Suites. This resort was spotless and followed all of the necessary safety procedures. The moment you entered through the front door, a friendly Team Member screened your temperature and directed you to the check-in counter. The Team Members were so welcoming and were happy to be back at work. They worked hard to ensure everything at the resort was clean and politely enforced that all guests were wearing appropriate face coverings. Our favorite part of the resort was the swimming pool! It was not busy, and all guests were appropriately social distancing both in the pool and on the pool deck. If you needed a break from wearing a mask, you could take a dip in the pool. But keep in mind, when walking about the pool deck or getting a cold beverage from the Surf Bar, you will need to put it back on. We also enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat at the Beach Break Café. The restaurants cook all food to order, and every meal that we ate was delicious!
Going into the theme parks was, of course, the highlight of our trip! We took the shuttle from the resort over to the theme park. It is helpful if you get your temperature screened before boarding the shuttle, as it saves you from having to wait in a line to be tested at City Walk. After getting our temperature checked, we got a wristband, which indicates that we are good to go. We were then ready to enter the parks! The first thing I noticed was the low crowd volume. There were little to no wait times for even the most popular attractions! We were able to get a Virtual Line Pass to ride Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure and meet our favorite Universal Characters from a Social Distance! In the theme parks, there was the same social distancing and face-covering rules as at the resort. There were ample Team Members carefully cleaning high touch areas. Guests were even provided hand sanitizer before boarding each ride. If you get warm in the parks, there are designated U-Rest areas where you can safely social distance from other parties and take a break from wearing your mask.
Overall, I enjoyed our Universal Orlando getaway. I felt safe and well taken care of throughout my entire vacation. I am already planning my return visit.
